The human side of a Disability Claim…when listening is key.
Susana Scott is a specialist – a HUMANIST—in CPP disability case management for LTD insurance providers resulting in releasing disability reserves, providing positive claim experience, and advocating social responsibility for the organization.
“everyone has a story – we will take the time to listen, with the compassion”
The provider carries the liability and requests the claimant apply for the CPPD to offset their cost. Seven times out of 10 the CPPD claim experience is not a positive one for both the claimant and the provider as the denial rate for CPPD is very high due to the federal government’s stringent criteria of eligibility.
At this juncture is where issues arise because of lack of knowledge and support between provider, HR, and the claimant. The claimant is very sick and needs support to see them through the application process which is proven to be daunting especially when confronted with appeals and or Tribunals. Nor do they have the strength and proper mind set to deal with these difficult situations. Remember, it’s not just about filling out forms.
For the provider, they are not able to release their disability reserves, don’t receive a timely overpayment recovery, and can not offset of their monthly obligation.
On this SHifT, we’ll be talking about how we bridge that gap via our disability case management services.
And here’s why this is an important SHifT in conversation.
